Competing for a top three place in the fourth tier of women’s football in the past few seasons and offering a pathway into women’s football in the south-west, Cheltenham Town Ladies FC is a football club that is run along ‘professional’ lines by a passionate and dedicated group of volunteers.

Vacant Positions

Head of Medical

This is a volunteer position

Roles/Responsibilities
  • To lead the medical team of Gloucestershire’s largest women’s football club.
  • To provide sports therapy coverage for First Team matchdays (Sundays with occasional midweek evenings – must be able to travel).
  • To run injury clinics during training, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
  • Work with the club’s coaching staff to prevent injuries during the season.
Qualifications
  • It is essential that potential candidates have either a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy or BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy.
  • Current and relevant first aid certificate is also essential.
  • Previous sports therapy experience in women’s football is desirable.

Sports Therapist

This is a volunteer position

Roles/Responsibilities
  • To provide sports therapy coverage for Development Team matchdays (Sundays – must be able to travel).
  • To assist the club’s Head of Medical with injury clinics during training, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (where necessary).
  • Work with the club’s coaching staff to prevent injuries during the season.
Qualifications
  • It is essential that potential candidates have either a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy or BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy.
  • Current and relevant first aid certificate is also essential.
  • Previous sports therapy experience in women’s football is desirable.

Head of Goalkeeping

This is a volunteer position

Roles/Responsibilities
  • Supporting and enhancing the development of goalkeepers within the largest football club in Gloucestershire.
  • Develop and deliver detailed goalkeeper-specific training sessions and matchday warmups, as well as travelling with the first team on match days.
  • Work alongside the club’s other coaches to deliver and develop the club’s philosophy.
Qualifications
  • It is essential that potential coaches have a minimum of an FA Level 2 Goalkeeping coaching badge, or have equivalent experience. Candidates with higher qualifications will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in coaching women’s football is desired but not essential.
