Cheltenham Town Ladies Rebrand Second Senior Side and Appoint Highly Rated Manager

27th July 2018

Cheltenham Town Ladies FC announces that its Development side is to be renamed as Cheltenham Town Ladies Reserves and has appointed Sarah Haden-Godwin as Manager.

The Club believes that new name is more representative of the ‘one squad’ approach that first team manager Alex Cheal is trying to imbue with players being able to move between the two sides, subject of course to League rules.

Perhaps more significantly the Club is delighted to welcome back Sarah Haden-Godwin as Reserve team manager in her second spell at the Club. Sarah is a highly rated coach and led the second string to promotion to the South West Women’s Football League in 2015/16.

Club chairman Andy Liddle said: “Sarah is a superb coach and we are delighted to appoint her as Reserve Manager. The role is an incredibly important one in ensuring with Alex and our Youth set up that the Cheltenham Town girls’ and women’s football pathway is a successful one. Welcome back Sarah.”

Cheltenham Town Ladies Reserves will play in the South West Women’s Football League Eastern Division. They play their matches on Sunday afternoons at the DN Fire Stadium with kick offs at 2pm.
