Cheltenham Town Ladies will be looking to claim their first away points of the 2023/24 Women’s National League Southern Premier season, as they travel to Rugby Borough Women on Sunday. (2pm kick-off)
It is the Robinesses’ first game in a fortnight following their withdrawal from the WNL Cup, after their 8-0 defeat to Ipswich Town. It was a carbon copy of last season’s final game at the AGL Arena back in April.
Tom Davies’ side face a Rugby Borough side who are in fine form, only losing once so far in seven matches in all competitions this season, to runaway leaders Hashtag United.
Last time out they advanced in the WNL Cup beating Swindon Town 3-0, and in the league, they last beat Plymouth Argyle, 6-2.
Rugby Borough (formerly Coventry United) sit in third, and are looking for a quick return to the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The Robinesses will be hoping for a change in fortune away from home after three straight defeats, to Portsmouth, Plymouth and Ipswich.
Davies and the side will therefore be hoping to gain some vital points to add to their unbeaten home league record at Kayte Lane of two wins and a draw.
The game is being played at Kilsby Lane in Rugby (CV21 4PN) and ticket prices range from £1-£30. Rugby states on their website that they give fans the choice of any amount in this price range, to let them decide what they think the women’s game is worth.
For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter), as well as Instagram.
