The Robinesses are set to face top-of-the-league National League Southern Division side Oxford United.
Cheltenham faced Oxford earlier in the season, suffering a 5-0 defeat on the road.
Oxford come into the game undefeated in the league but lost their recent FA Cup tie against Bristol City. Tom Davies’ side, on the other hand, won 4-0 over an in-form Billericay Town at New Lodge last weekend.
Oxford sit top of the table by two points, with a game in hand on second place Portsmouth.
The Robinesses are currently sixth, with two games in hand on fifth place Billericay. A win could push Cheltenham to fifth depending on other results.
Speaking ahead of the weekend’s fixture, Davies knows what is needed to get a result against a strong Oxford United side.
“It’s about us approaching it the right way. We’re on the back of a fantastic result. It’s all about us implementing what we know we’re capable of doing.”
“We need to be aggressive, with and without the ball, but we need to play our way. Oxford are a fantastic side but they’re not inhuman. Every team is beatable,” said Davies.
The Cheltenham Town manager is excited to make their long-awaited return to the Corinium Stadium after a long run of away games.
“There’s been a lot of coach travel, a lot of friendlies and rearranged fixtures. It’s nice knowing we now have a run of fixtures and they’re at home. It’ll be nice to be home and play in front of friends, family and fans again.”
Cheltenham Town Ladies v Oxford United WFC takes place at the Corinium Stadium (postcode: GL7 1HS) at 2:00PM on Sunday, 5th February.
