Cheltenham Town Ladies have been handed a home tie in the First Round of the FA Women’s National League Plate.
The Robinesses enter the Plate, a competition they reached the semi-final of last season, following a 4-2 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the FA WNL Cup Determining Round on September 25.
To start this season’s Plate campaign, Cheltenham have been handed a home fixture against FA WNL new girls, AFC St. Austell of the FA WNL Divison One South-West, with the fixture set to take place on October 30.
Following promotion from the South West Regional Women’s Football League West in 19/20, The Lilywhites marched to back-to-back promotions, losing only one game on route to the SWRWFL Premier championship last season. 2022/23, however, has been something of a baptism by fire, as the Cornish side have yet to win a game at Tier Four.
This meeting will be the first competitive meeting between the two clubs.
