FA WNL League Plate Semi-Final Draw

7th February 2022

After this weekend’s heroics, Cheltenham Town Ladies have discovered who they will face in the Semi-Final of the FA Women’s National League Plate Competition.

After coming from a goal behind to beat Exeter City Women in the Quarter Final, Cheltenham Town will continue to make history by participating in the Semi-Final stage for the first time ever. An early goal from Exeter was cancelled out before Half Time by Lacy-Jai Liggett, who chalked up another in the second half courtesy of a handy deflection off of Exeter ‘keeper Abbi Bond’s leg.

The draw, conducted by the FA Women’s National League will see Cheltenham play host to Nottingham Forest Women, of the FA WNL Northern Premier, at the Corinium Stadium on March 6, with a 2pm kick-off*.

The prospect of facing a Tier 3 side is no stranger to Tom Davies’ side, as they have already eliminated West Bromwich Albion from the competition. A Georgie-Marie Barbour-Gresham equaliser in the dying minutes took the game to extra time and eventually penalties, with an Aimee Watson save making the difference between the two sides.
