Cheltenham Town Ladies’ fixtures for the 2021/22 FA Women’s National League Division One South West have been announced.
Following the early closing of last season’s league campaign, The Robins Ladies entered into a rollercoaster ride of a Vitality Women’s FA Cup run which saw them bow out against Portsmouth before being reinstated following an administrative error by the Hampshire side, and then going on to force Gillingham Women into extra time in the next round in a game streamed by over 3000 fans. Tom Davies’ team aim to build on the back of last season’s success in what will be a different looking FA Women’s National League Division One South West.
With teams able to apply for promotion ahead of 2021/22, the Women’s National League has seen a few changes over the summer, particularly in the Division One South West, with Southampton FC Women – affiliated to the Barclay’s Premier League club – achieving promotion to the Southern Premier, while Brislington Ladies were relegated to the South West Regional Women’s Football League.
Promoted to the FA WNL Division One South West are AFC Bournemouth Women (from the Southern Regional Women’s Football League) and Portishead Ladies (South West Regional Women’s Football League), who Cheltenham fans will be familiar with following the Women’s FA Cup clash against them in November 2020.
