Cheltenham Town Ladies FC will have to wait another week to launch their FA Women’s National League Division One South-West campaign as their opening day opponents were forced to call the game off.
The decision was made before midday to postpone the fixture after two Brislington players, who had trained with the squad ahead of tomorrow’s game displayed symptoms of Coronavirus.
Both players are isolating and awaiting tests, however following the advice from Somerset FA, the club were forced to call a halt to the fixture due to safety concerns relating to both teams, supporters and match officials.
The fixture will be rearranged following an update on the player’s test results.
Cheltenham will now kick off their campaign at home to Chesham United Women on September 27 (2pm). The match will take place at The Big Local Stadium. Adults are £3, or two for £5, with Cheltenham Town FC season ticket holders, Robins Trust members and children going free.
