Cheltenham Town Ladies welcome strong defender, Becks Halford, who joins the club from Yeovil Town Women FC.

The 20 year old, who can play anywhere across the defensive line as well as in midfield, has also played for Forest Green Rovers Women, Bristol Academy and Oxford City Women, while also gaining international experience with Wales at Under 19s level.

When she isn’t playing, Becks still takes part in the beautiful game by picking up match official roles as she’s a Level 5 referee in the Gloucestershire FA county league.

When asked about her goals for the upcoming campaign, she told Jon Palmer of Gloucestershire Live “My aim is promotion and to be one of the first names on Tom’s team sheet.”

“I am looking to enjoy my football and get game time. I don’t like opponents getting past me”

She also reminisced her family’s link to Cheltenham Town FC, commenting “I’m also looking forward to playing a game at Whaddon Road because my dad (Mike) used to take photos for the programme in the club’s Southern League days.”

Becks also appeared for Cheltenham Town Ladies in pre-season, being named in the starting XI against West Bromwich Albion Women.
