Becky Donnelly signs for The Development

18th January 2020

Cheltenham Town Ladies Development have completed the signing of attacking player, Becky Donnelly for the rest of the South-West Regional Women’s Football League campaign.

Donnelly, who also features for the University of Gloucestershire Women’s Football Club returns for her second spell with the Robinesses.

Manager Cameron Cheal was pleased with the Reserves’ latest capture, commenting “Becky is a fantastic addition to a growing squad of players. I’m delighted to resign her as she will definitely provide energy and a different sort of attacking quality which I know will only strengthen us even more.

“We are always looking to develop our squad both internally and externally and feel that adding a few new faces at this time will stand us in good stead moving forward to challenge the best in the league.

“Becky will provide a creative flare that will only benefit us a side”

Left winger Donnelly represented the Robinesses’ Reserves previously, having played for half a season in the last campaign, under then-manager Sarah Haden-Godwin.

Despite only recently returning after the Christmas holidays, the University of Gloucestershire Sports and Exercise Science student is already looking forward to her return: “I can’t wait to get back out there for the Reserves again.” She told ctlfc.com “I can’t wait to bring my university form to this team and hopefully help the girls get more wins on the board and compete for that top spot”

Donnelly is expected to be part of the matchday squad ahead of the Development team’s clash away at Downend Flyers tomorrow afternoon (Harnham Athletic, 2pm)
