Kayleigh Hateley leaves for Swindon

21st September 2019

Experienced midfielder and occasional centre-half, Kayleigh Hateley, has left Cheltenham Town Ladies to join local rivals Swindon Town Women in search of first team football.

Hateley, a leader on the field – and a former Manager’s Player of the Year – featured more than 30 times in the past two seasons for Cheltenham as a battling central midfielder, who was as comfortable stopping attacks as she was creating them.

However, after spending pre-season standing in at centre-half alongside Cerys Dolloway, she has found first team football hard to come by, due to Alex Cheal’s transfer dealings during the summer break, with only one start and one substitute appearance for the Robins so far this season.

Currently, Kayleigh’s new club, Swindon Town Women, have found the going in the Women’s National League Division One SW tough, as they find themselves second from bottom, still searching for a win.

Cheltenham Town Ladies would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to Kayleigh for her services over the past few seasons, and wish her the best of luck at her new club.
