RESERVES: Superb Win Away at Laverstock & Ford

5th November 2018

The Reserves made their longest away trip of the season to Laverstock & Ford. The opposition have made a solid start at Regional level after promotion last season.

After a well observed minute silence Cheltenham made a fast start and took a third minute lead through Asta Krabbe, rounding the keeper and calmly placing it in the corner.

The game was finely balanced with Laverstock causing problems out wide but few clear chances for either side.

In the 32nd minute Skipp played in a great near post corner where Krabbe met it on the volley for her second of the day.

Half time came with Cheltenham in a deserved 2-0 lead on the balance of chances.

Second half started with Cheltenham on the front foot and looking comfortable in possession.

It was 3-0 after 66 minutes as Lydia met Suze Berry’s whipped cross first time and buried it in the corner for the captain’s first of the season.

Two minutes later and Krabbe made a great run down the right hand side and thumped it against the post.

Cheltenham started to create plenty of opportunities in the latter stages and were rewarded with a fourth goal.

Skipp with another of her trademark corners and Jade Wiltshire (pictured) did her best Ronaldo-impression at the back post to head in with help from the post.

4-0 and 3 points to move back to the top of the table.
