Cheltenham Town Ladies Development had a convincing 6-1 home win against FC Chippenham at Petersfield Park on Sunday which saw them leapfrog their opponents and move up to 8th in the League.
Led by captain Lydia Amarquaye (pictured) the Ladies started brightly but had little to show for their efforts early on until Catherine Reilly shrugged the goalie’s pull back to bundle the ball over the line for the opener. The referee played a superb advantage in letting play go on.Two further goals followed for Cheltenham who went in at half time three up.
FC Chippenham pulled one back shortly after the restart but this only inspired the Ladies to step up their game. Such was their dominance they could have easily finished in double figures. Suze Berry was denied a hat trick, while Diana Toth claimed hers finishing off a superb cross from Jess Wadey. Lydia Amarqaye then hit the cross bar with a lovely free kick.
Final Score: 6-1.
