Charity Fund Raiser Exceeds All Expectations

26th February 2018

Cheltenham Town Ladies raised a staggering £350 for Local Little Legs charity at Sunday’s FA WPL match at Petersfield Park.

The match had been billed as a fund raiser for the charity and Lilac and her parents were guests of honour along with Cheltenham Town Mayor Klara Sudbury.
On a sunny afternoon Lilac and Klara were introduced to the players and staff before Klara had a go at some shooting practice against goalie Bec Panniers.
The two guests then took part in the pre-match handshakes with the match officials and team captains.
Lilac and Klara were both presented with official club pennants and copies of the special edition programme autographed by the CTLFC team. Klara was also given a floral bouquet by mascot Ruby, which had been made by her mother.

Lilac’s father Barry said: “It means a lot to have the support of everyone at Cheltenham Town Ladies. What an effort. That is amazing.”
Club chairman Andy Liddle said: “We would like to thank all our supporters and Poole Town for helping to make today’s fund raiser such a success. This donation is another big step to securing for Lilac the operation she deserves so much.
“A special thank you must also go to Klara, who was clearly a fine footballer in her day, her husband Dave, and of course Lilac and her parents.”
