Whaddon Road Victory Parade

1st May 2017

To celebrate Cheltenham Town LFC’s best season in the FAWPL the Ladies were invited to Whaddon Road last Saturday (29 April) to parade the Cup round the pitch at half time. The team have so far achieved their highest points total, with three games to play, and also to have won the GFA County Women’s Trophy.
Manager Graham Fletcher commented: “It was very nice gesture from Paul Baker and Cheltenham Town to invite the team and all the players were delighted. The reaction from the home and away fans was terrific – my players were genuinely surprised how much support they received today. Every time they raised the Cup, they got a huge cheer, and were so happy to hear the applause. Some of the Hartlepool fans even asked if our players could sign for them as their men were struggling.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support. I said to the team afterwards, that I hoped they enjoyed the experience, and if they continue to work hard days like today will keep coming.
“We have 3 games left to play, all difficult, but we are playing well, and it would be great to round off this season, with a couple more wins.”
