Every after home match manager Graham Fletcher is interviewed exclusively by a University of Gloucestershire Media Graduate.

This week it was the turn of Joseph Rose.

Cheltenham Town Ladies manager Graham Fletcher is pleased with his side’s performance following Cheltenham’s comfortable 4-1 victory over struggling Exeter City at Petersfield Park.

Two second half strikes secured a first win in three games for for the Ladies, with Fletcher delighted with the response of his players.

“It was a difficult pitch but I felt we adapted to the game pretty well,” said Fletcher.

“I thought some of our passing game was very good. We were doing well in patches but we would lose concentration at times in the first half. In the second half, we were much better and we ran out comfortable winners in the end.”

Fletcher is relieved to get back to winning ways following two consecutive defeats, and with another three points in the bag, the result has extra significance for the Robins.

“We haven’t been playing too badly to be fair. We went on a good run but our first half in the loss to Brislington was our worst of the season. Having said that, we know what we want to do, the players know what we want to do, and we’re going alright at the moment.

“An interesting stat is it’s the most points we’ve achieved in the Women’s Premier League after today’s victory. We’re looking to break into the top six if we can. They’re good enough to do it, they just got to believe that they can do it.”

Cheltenham face Bristol Union on Sunday looking to reach he semi-final of the County Cup for the second consecutive season. Fletcher is hopeful to maintain the momentum gained from the victory.

“One of our aims from the start of the season was to go as far as we can in the County cup,” said Fletcher.

“We’re facing a side who are around four divisions below us so we have to be favourites. But football is a funny game and you’ll never know. Hopefully we can get through to the semi-final.”
