Cheltenham Town Women will look to continue their impressive start to the Women’s National League Southern Premier season when they take on AFC Wimbledon at Kayte Lane on Sunday (2pm Kick-off).
Tom Davies’ side will be looking to bounce back after their 1-0 defeat in midweek to Worcester City. This subsequently knocked them out of the Women’s National League Cup, and entered them into the WNL Plate for the 2024/25 season.
A goal from Olivia Mitcham 70 minutes in was enough for the home side to advance against a Robinesses side that had six changes from the side who beat MK Dons, 5-0 last Sunday.
They return to league action this Sunday as they welcome The Dons to Kayte Lane, after their promotion from the WNL Division One South East last season. They finished the 2023/24 season seven points ahead of second placed Norwich City.
Kevin Foster’s side have had a mixed start to the new campaign, drawing 1-1 with Lewes on the opening day, losing 1-0 to Gwalia United last weekend, and narrowly losing 1-0 to QPR in the WNL Cup in midweek.
The Robinesses will be looking to make it three league wins out of three to start the season, ahead of a packed September schedule, which sees home games against Hashtag United and Gwalia, and away trips to Billericay and Watford.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under 18s, and can be purchased here or on the gate.
Information on travel to Kayte Lane (GL52 3PD) can be found here.
For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter) as well as on Instagram.
