Cheltenham Town Women FC have recruited Oxford United winger Anais Trinci to their line up as the start of the 2024/25 campaign draws near.
Tom Davies’ eighth summer signing made eight appearances for Oxford United last season, as well as representing Wales in the Under 19’s European Championship.
“It’s been really good, the girls have been really welcoming, and the coaches have helped me settle in really well,” Trinci said of her welcome to Cheltenham, when talking to Gloucestershire Live.
On her 2023/24 season with Oxford, Trinci said: “It was really good. It was completely different to anything I’d done before, and I had to move away from home.
“So, I had that bit of independence. Doing that, alongside playing football it did put me into a different world.
“Oxford was a different learning style which was interesting compared to other clubs I’d played for. I learned a lot from my time there, but I’m really excited for the journey with Cheltenham.”
Cheltenham have one pre-season game left before starting their season with Plymouth Argyle at home on Sunday, August 18.
Reflecting on The Club’s pre-season so far, Trinci said: “It’s been a tough week with three games. I’m just really excited to get started against Plymouth.”
Trinci hopes to bring a fast energy and relentless work rate to the side this season, commenting: “I’m non-stop on the pitch, always tracking back and working really hard. I like to play the slip balls in behind and line-breaking passes.”
Manager Tom Davies was overjoyed to secure another signing, telling the local media: “Anais has come in, worked hard, and applied herself well to everything she’s been asked of.
“She’s still developing and improving her game as she adapts to a new position however, she’s been able to contribute and have success already which is only going to continue as she settles in the side and club over the coming weeks and months.”
Trinci and her new Robiness teammates return to competitive action on August 18, hosting Plymouth Argyle Women at Kayte Lane. A full list of competitive fixtures for the 2024/25 season can be found here.
