Cheltenham Town Ladies will be hoping to build on last week’s positive performance as they make the trip across the Welsh border to face Cardiff City Ladies this Sunday (2PM Kickoff).
It’ll be the third time these two sides have met this season, with a 2-2 league draw back in September, and a 3-0 triumph in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup First around.
Emily Allen opened the scoring in the draw at Kayte Lane, however her goal was cancelled out by Cori Williams and Chloe Lloyd netting to give the Dragons a 2-1 lead at the break, however Phoebie Poole scored early on in the second half to salvage a point for the Robinesses.
It was more routine in the FA Cup two months later, as a great long-range effort from Tash Harding and an Una Lue brace sent Tom Davies’ side into the Second Round.
The Robinesses will be looking to build on a very promising 2-2 draw last week against Ipswich Town. Henna Butcher opened the scoring; however, the Tractor Girls soon turned the game around with a penalty from Bonnie Horwood. A late own goal looked to give Ipswich all three points, but another stunner from Harding shared the spoils at Kayte Lane.
Fern Burrage-Male’s side are currently 7th, a point ahead of the Robinesses, having won their last two games in a row, besting Billericay and Chatham Town, 2-1 and 2-0 respectively.
The game is being played at Newport International Sports Village in Newport, NP19 4RA. Tickets for adults are £5, and are free for Under-16s.
For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter) as well as Instagram.
