PREVIEW: Ipswich Town Women (H)

9th February 2024

By Owen Mason.

Cheltenham Town Ladies will be looking to acquire their first points of the calendar year as they return to Kayte Lane to take on Ipswich Town on Sunday (2PM Kick-off).

In the Robinesses’ last outing against MK Dons a fortnight ago, a late goal from Zoe Creaney gave The Dons all three points, inflicting a fourth straight defeat in the process.

This weekend Tom Davies’ side return to Kayte Lane for the first time in three weeks, as they face an Ipswich Town side currently sit in 5th, having just come off a 1-0 defeat last time out at home to Portsmouth, and last won three weeks ago, thrashing London Bees, 6-1.

The Robinesses will be hoping for a better outcome than the reverse fixture back in September, when Ipswich came out 8-0 winners at the AGL Arena.

Goals from Ruby Doe, Leena Gunning-Williams, Sophie Peskett, Nia Evans, and four goals from Natasha Thomas completed the rout for the Tractor Girls.

This marks the first of two consecutive games in a week, with the rearranged visit to Cardiff City now being played on Sunday February 18, rather than the following Thursday. This marks their third match with Fern Burrage-Male’s side this season, after the 2-2 draw at Kayte Lane back in September, and the 3-0 Adobe Women’s FA Cup triumph at Newport Stadium in November.

Tickets are £6 for adults, and £3 for concessions, and will be played at Kayte Lane (GL52 3PD). Tickets can be bought in advance for this game, as well as on the gate, by clicking here.
