Cheltenham Town Ladies FC will host a familiar face in the Second Round of the Women’s FA Cup.
The Robinesses will play host to Exeter City Women of the FA Women’s National League Division One South-West (November 26, kick-off TBC).
The visitors qualified for the Second Round by hammering Torquay United 7-0 and Helston Athletic 8-0 in the Third Qualifying Round and First Round Proper respectively, while Cheltenham overcame Cardiff City 3-0 in Newport in the First Round.
FA Cup games between the two sides have been a highlight of previous seasons, with each game being separated by the tightest of margins.
In 2018, the sides were separated only by Cheltenham captain Sarah Walters’ lofty free-kick, while 2019 saw Cheltenham advance 4-3 with Annie Martin and Exeter’s Abbie Britton each scoring a hattrick.
In December 2020, the sides would grind out a 1-1 draw in a clash which saw a late Exeter penalty and a disallowed Cheltenham goal. With replays ruled out due to the Covid19 pandemic, the game would go to penalties, with Cheltenham emerging victorious.
