Cheltenham Town Ladies have added to their ranks with the signing of former Stoke City midfielder Ella Pemberton.
The 23-year old most recently played for Crewe Alexandra but joins the Robinesses ahead of a busy schedule, with Chatham in the Women’s National League Southern Premier on Sunday November 5, and the visit to Cardiff City in the FA Cup a week later.
Pemberton was delighted to join the Robinesses, stating: “After conversations with Tom (Davies, Manager) I am impressed with the ambitions of the club, and the talent of the girls in the squad!
“I have played with some of the girls at Stoke, Emily (Owen) and Courtney (Jones) They are great girls to lean on, and to have as leaders of the team.”
“The girls have been so welcoming to me, full of talent, with such a drive to succeed, it comes across in training with their willingness to learn.”
The Robinesses’ latest signing has had more than 10 years at Stoke City, through the academy, and the first team squad. She alluded to how beneficial this experience has been.
She said: “I feel I can help push a supportive team environment, that can help younger players to thrive.
“I can also help offer high levels of professionalism, with strong enjoyment, and passion for the game.”
And if she had to describe herself to the fans, Pemberton stated: “I like to keep it simple, and work hard. I might not be the most glamorous player, but I’ll give it 100% every game!”
