Cheltenham Town Ladies look to make it 3 home wins in a row on Thursday as they face Cardiff City Ladies in the Women’s National League Southern Premier (7:45pm kickoff).
Tom Davies’ side will hope to extend their winning run to the season, after a 3-0 triumph over Maidenhead in the FA WNL League Cup Determining Round and last Sunday’s 3-2 league victory over London Bees at a scorching Kayte Lane.
After a tough start, which saw the Bees convert an early penalty, the Robinesses fought back through goals from Lily Billingham, Emily Allen and captain, Emily Owen.
Despite a late second goal which fuelled a potential comeback from the visitors, the Robinesses stood firm to gain their first three points of the league campaign.
The Dragons come to Kayte Lane on the back of a winless start to the WNL season, losing 2-1 at home to Ipswich Town, and last time out a 9-0 thrashing away at Portsmouth.
The last time these sides met was almost five years ago, in the Women’s National League Cup. In October 2018, Cardiff came out 5-3 winners over the Robinesses, scoring two goals at the death after Cheltenham had fought back to draw level with just minutes left on the clock.
This first midweek match for Cheltenham will be shortly followed with a trip to Plymouth Argyle this coming Sunday, at 2pm.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £3 for concessions, and will be played at Kayte Lane (GL52 3PD). For more information regarding travel to the stadium, click here.
For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter), as well as Instagram.
