Cheltenham Ladies face Bridgwater United Women in the National League Southern Premier Division tonight.
The two sides faced each other earlier in the season under the lights at the Corinium Stadium. Cheltenham found themselves ahead through skipper Emily Owen at the hour mark.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the final moments of the tie and found their goal through Laura Holden, then-Bridgwater midfielder who has since signed for the Robinesses.
The game comes after a difficult run of results for the Tom Davies’ side. The outfit have taken one point from their last five games.
The most recent game for Cheltenham saw them travel to Gillingham, where the side fell to a 2-1 defeat. The visitors’ goal came through an Izzy Cook run across the byline. Cook passed to Laura Holden across the goal mouth who converted from close range.
Bridgwater are in a poor run of form, having one draw and five losses in their last six fixtures. The side just inside the relegation battle, one point away from 10th place London Bees.
Cheltenham sit in 8th in the league table but have a game in hand on 7th place Gillingham, just one point above them.
The game could see a change in fortune for one of the sides, with Cheltenham playing their next game on Saturday as they face London Bees at The Completely-Suzuki Stadium.
Bridgwater United WFC v Cheltenham Town Ladies takes place at the Fairfax Park Stadium (postcode: TA6 4TZ) at 7:45 on Thursday, 16th March.
