New Signing Joins From Bristol City

4th August 2022

Cheltenham Town Ladies welcome talented prospect Maisy Collis as their latest signing.

Maisy, 20, who signs from Bristol City Women, where she’s been a player since 11, is hoping to take the opportunity to rebuild her on-field confidence with The Robins, after returning from an injury absence.

She joins as The Club’s eight signing, having previously represented England Colleges and broken into City’s first team, signing her first contract last year.

“Tom (Davies, manager) contacted me showing his interest when the team got promoted and it went from there,” Collis told Jon Palmer from Gloucestershire Live. “There are some great players and staff here and everyone has been very welcoming. They definitely have the right ambitions for the season ahead too.

“I want to help the team as much as I can and build my experience playing in this league, hopefully finishing high up the table.”

Collis believes her calm, composed player in the middle of the pitch can contribute to Cheltenham’s first taste of Tier Three football. She’s also brings a strong work ethic, and enjoys defending as much as she likes to join in with attacks. Outside of football, she is a full-time sports performance student at the University of Bath.

Manager Tom Davies was delighted with his latest capture, telling The Club’s website “Maisy’s got fantastic technical quality, mixed together with her awareness and physical attributes, she’s a huge asset for us to capture in our maiden term at Tier Three. Now for her, similarly with some others, its about developing consistency at this level and establishing herself as a top player”

Cheltenham’s 2022/23 campaign starts with a home game against Plymouth Argyle on August 21. For a list of The Club’s fixtures, click here.
