Cheltenham Town Ladies FC have completed the signing of defender Lois Colley from Larkhall Athletic.
A former University of Gloucestershire, London Bees and Oxford United defender, Colley (pictured) joins the Robins Ladies already knowing a lot of her new club’s squad.
“I’ve always had my eye on Cheltenham because I know a lot of the girls and have heard good things about Tom (Davies, manager) and the coaching staff,” Colley told Gloucestershire Live’s Jon Palmer.
“I wanted to push myself further and it sounded like the right place to do so. I like to try and control the game as much as possible and keep my team in the know about what’s around them.”
Colley believes that being surrounded by so many familiar faces will help her adapt quickly to life at her new club.
“That always helps when transitioning into a team,” she said.
“They are a great bunch of girls and the most energetic team I’ve ever met. I can’t wait to get the season going, improve so much as a player with Cheltenham and win the league!”
Cheltenham Town Ladies start their FA Women’s National League Division One South West at home, welcoming Southampton Women to the Corinium Stadium on August 15, 2021.
