Holly Finch Joins Cheltenham Town Lades

9th July 2021

Cheltenham Town Ladies FC have announced their first summer signing, welcoming Bristol City Under 21’s captain, Holly Finch to the club.

Cheltenham-born Finch joins the Robinesses after a nine year spell coming up through the ranks at Bristol City, winning the club’s award for professionalism and attitude at the age of 14 and participating in England training camps.

The central defender, a former Rowanfield Junior School student, is now looking ahead to a new challenge in a new environment.

“I’m buzzing to be able to play for my home town,” she told Gloucestershire Live’s Jon Palmer.

“It’s a new opportunity to go and give everything to another club. I’m starting to get to know the girls and the atmosphere at training is amazing; it’s like a little family.”

Finch is looking forward to helping her hometown club advance, and believes her previous experience can advance the club on.

“My time at Bristol City was full of ups and downs,” she reflected.

“I learned so much at such a young age, which I can now take into senior football. After finishing my two years of college there, it was time for a change and time to move onto bigger things.”

Cheltenham Town Ladies return to on-field action on Sunday, as they make the trip to West Bromwich Albion Women for their first pre-season fixture.
