Cheltenham Town Ladies are all set to play on the big stage this Sunday as they take on Maidenhead United Ladies at the LCI Rail Stadium. Kick off is 2pm.
It is their first Women’s Premier League appearance at Whaddon Road as part of a closer working relationship with the men’s club.
Both the men’s and ladies clubs compete at the fourth tier of their respective league systems.
It will be a special moment for Robins boss Graham Fletcher and an occasion to relish for his players.
“I was lucky enough to play at Whaddon Road and I am now there watching for every home game for the men and sponsor the odd game too, so to be involved as a manager there now is fantastic,” he said.
Ladies chairman Andy Liddle added: “We hope the town will get behind the team and many will come and see live ladies football for the first time.
“Playing at the LCI Rail Stadium will provide an unforgettable experience for the first team and we are indebted to Paul Baker and the Cheltenham Town board for making this happen.”
