ROBINS TO HOST CHELTENHAM LADIES’ HOME FIXTURE

Cheltenham Town is delighted to officially announce the club is to host a home fixture for Cheltenham Town Ladies next month.

Cheltenham Town Ladies will use the LCI Rail Stadium for the first time ever when they face Maidenhead Ladies in FA Women’s Premier League on Sunday, September 10th (kick-off 2pm).

Chairman Paul Baker said the Robins were thrilled to be able to host the fixture as the two clubs look to build even stronger links in the coming seasons.

He said: “It is fantastic news that Cheltenham Town Ladies will play at our home in September and I hope our supporters will come along and really get behind this special fixture.

“The women’s game continues to enjoy meteoric growth in the UK, supported by England’s success in this year’s European Championships and the FA’s ‘Gameplan for Growth’, which aims to double the number of women and girls taking part in football by 2020.

“Cheltenham is now home to the leading men’s and ladies’ football clubs in Gloucestershire and so we are pleased to be able to offer them our support, the use of the stadium for this fixture and we wish the senior side every success this year.”

Cheltenham Town Ladies play in the South Western Division of the FA Women’s Premier League, the fourth tier of senior women’s football. They are in their fourth season at this level and last season the club won the Gloucestershire FA County Cup.

Ladies Chairman Andy Liddle commented: “The club has gone from strength to strength over recent years, developing from just the one team, to eight. Our youth structure starts at under 8 level through to under 18 and supports two senior sides. Playing at the LCI stadium will provide an unforgettable experience for the first team and we are indebted to Paul and the Cheltenham Town board for making this happen. We hope the town will get behind the team and come and see live Ladies football for the very first time”.

Entry to the game between Cheltenham Town Ladies and Maidenhead Ladies is just £5 on the day for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family ticket admitting four. All tickets include a programme and the bar at the LCI Rail Stadium will be open.
