PREVIEW: MK Dons Women Away

23rd August 2024

Cheltenham Town Women will look to make it two wins from two as they make their first away trip of the season this weekend, as they travel to MK Dons on Sunday (2:00pm Kickoff).

The Robinesses make the trip to Stadium MK after a fantastic 4-0 opening day victory over Plymouth Argyle. Goals from Lacy-Jai Liggett, Henna Butcher, Una Lue and Emily Owen sealed a perfect start to the season at Kayte Lane last Sunday.

This marks a busy part of the season for Tom Davies’ side. After the trip to face the Dons, they face Worcester City on Thursday August 29 in a Women’s National League Cup Determining Round match, and return to league action three days later as they welcome AFC Wimbledon to Kayte Lane.

MK started their season with a 7-0 defeat last Sunday, to Third Tier debutants Exeter City. Last season, fixtures between Cheltenham and this weekend’s hosts had differing fortunes for the Robinesses.

Back in September 2023, Cheltenham won 4-3 in a back-and-forth contest, which saw Davies’ side come back from 3-1 down at Kayte Lane. However back in January, a late goal from Zoe Creaney gave MK all three points.

The game is being played at Stadium MK, postcode MK1 1ST.

For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter) as well as on Instagram.
