PREVIEW: London Bees

Cheltenham Ladies face London Bees at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium in the National League Southern Premier Division.

The match is expected to bring a record attendance for Cheltenham Ladies. The previous record is 375.

The spectacle is billed to be a great game, with both teams in similar form, and the last Robinesses’ outing was a six- goal thriller so there’s sure to be exciting football on display.

The game with be played after Cheltenham men’s 3:00pm League One fixture with Exeter City.

The two sides faced each other earlier in the season at The Hive Stadium. Cheltenham where Cheltenham took a 4-0 lead before conceding twice to finish 4-2 victors.

The game comes just two days after the side’s 3-3 draw with Bridgwater United. All six goals occurred in the first half, with Billie Haynes scoring in five minutes to begin the scoring frenzy.

Holly Finch headered home Cheltenham’s second to equalise the game, and after Beth Everson put Bridgwater in the lead, it was Laura Holden’s long-range effort that levelled the scoresheet for good.

The game comes after a difficult run of results for the Tom Davies’ side. The outfit have taken two point from their last six games, but scoring three goals on their last outing can be seen as a promising sign of things to come.

London Bees are also in a poor run of form, having one point in their last six fixtures. The side has dropped into the relegation zone with Bridgwater picking up a point against the Robinesses.

Cheltenham sit in 8th in the league table but have a game in hand on 7th place Gillingham, with just goal difference between the two clubs.

The game could see a change in fortune for either side in the approach to the run-in. Cheltenham playing their next game on Saturday as they face London Bees at The Completely-Suzuki Stadium.
